2.7. Add Multiple Users

You can add or delete multiple users individually, by clicking Add User or Delete User, or upload a CSV file containing descriptions of many users, using the Add Multiple button. Profile properties can be added to the set being assigned to new users with the Add Profile Property button. Only profile properties that are already defined in the domain can be added to the table, or included in the CSV file, so define them all in advance.

Any users already present in the table will be erased when a CSV file is uploaded and saved. The format of the CSV file is as follows: the first non-empty row in the file must be a header row, describing the columns of data in the table. The columns can be in any order, and blank rows and columns will be ignored. There are four required columns: 'Full Name', 'Login ID', 'Email' and 'Password' (without the quotes). Zero or more columns for profile properties can be included, which must have a header of the format 'Property:', followed by one space, followed by the case-sensitive profile property name, e.g., 'Property: My profile property'.

Unique Login ID's are required for each user, each consisting of an email or user name (Section 4.2, “System Settings”), and, optionally, a slash (/) followed by a role, e.g., bjones, or bjones@mycompany.com, or bjones@mycompany.com/sales or bjones/sales. A non-blank full name is also required, and an optional password. Passwords which are blank in an uploaded CSV file will be automatically generated, but must be recorded prior to the final saving of the set of new users, as they will not be visible after that point. Profile properties may be blank in the table and the CSV file.
