1.1. Mobile Dashboard Online Help Manual Overview

This manual provides documentation for Webalo's Mobile Dashboard. It includes help information for each task administrators can perform within the Mobile Dashboard administrative website. The documentation consists of the following chapters:

  1. Introduction. We introduce the Mobile Dashboard's basic concepts and definitions (Section 1.2, “The Mobile Dashboard - Basic Concepts”), describe the Agenda Environment (Section 1.3, “The Agenda Environment”), and discuss the various Agenda Item Categories and their operation (Section 1.4, “Starting New Activities”).

  2. Domain Administration (Users, Groups, Content) . We focus on domains (Chapter 2, Domain Administration (Users, Groups, Content)), including how to create end users and organize them into user groups, and how to upload and configure content (for distribution to mobile users).

  3. Account Administration. We describe the process of creating and managing customer accounts (Chapter 3, Account Administration), and switching between managing multiple domains within an account.

  4. System Administration. We describe various system administration functionalities (Chapter 4, System Administration).

  5. Report Configuration. We detail the process of configuring a report (Section 5.1, “Introduction To Report Configuration”) for delivery to mobile users.

  6. Database Query Configuration. We detail the process of configuring database queries (Section 6.1, “Introduction To Database Query Configuration”) for delivery to mobile users.

  7. XML Web Services Configuration. We detail the process of configuring XML Web Services (Section 7.1, “Introduction to XML Web Services Configuration”) for delivery to mobile users.

  8. Web Site Configuration. We detail the process of configuring Web Sites (Section 8.1, “Introduction to Web Site Configuration”) for delivery to mobile users.

  9. Deploying Tasks to End Users. We describe the process of making tasks available for end users to access from their mobile devices (Section 9.1, “Create Links to Task”).

  10. Managed Clients. Webalo's Managed Clients reside on users' mobile devices and display corporate data in a manner consistent with the look-and-feel of the individual mobile devices. This chapter provides an overview of the Managed Clients Section 10.1, “Managed Clients - Basic Concepts”), as well as a detailed description of the RIM BlackBerry Client (Section 10.2, “RIM BlackBerry Managed Client”), the Windows Mobile Managed Client (Section 10.3, “Windows Mobile Managed Client”), and the Java MIDP 2.0 Managed Client(Section 10.4, “Java MIDP 2.0 Managed Client”). While this chapter is distinct from Mobile Dashboard administration, it is critical to understanding the entire Mobile Dashboard process.
