6.2. Name Database Query

This page describes a part of the Mobile Dashboard's process for configuring database queries. For an introduction to the database query configuration process, see Section 6.1, “Introduction To Database Query Configuration”. For a general introduction to the online help manual, see Section 1.1, “Mobile Dashboard Online Help Manual Overview”.

You need to provide a name for the database query (which will also appear on users' mobile devices) and an (optional) description of the query. Queries can be organized into folders, within each domain, as desired. Note that empty folders are not retained, and will disappear as soon as they no longer contain any reports.

The name of the report may contain spaces and basic punctuation. It should be a short phrase describing the concise contents of the query (e.g., 'Get Sales Performance') that users will easily understand when they see it on their mobile devices.

If this is a new query, click on Select Database Query Name. A Select Database Query Name and Location pop-up window allows you to enter the query name. You can also create folders in the pop-up window if you want to organize your queries into folders. If the query already has a name, you can change it by clicking on Change Database Query Name. The same pop-up window allows you to edit the query name.

The Description field can be used to describe the query, in case the name is insufficient. The description is solely for your use and is not seen by any end users.
