5.1. Introduction To Report Configuration

This page is part of the Mobile Dashboard online help. For an introduction to the online help manual, see Section 1.1, “Mobile Dashboard Online Help Manual Overview”.

Report Configuration is a guided step-by-step process for setting up content for distribution to mobile end users. A corporate administrator uses the Mobile Dashboard's Agenda Environment (Section 1.3, “The Agenda Environment”) to answer a series of questions identifying the data to be displayed and the screens needed for mobile users.

Report configuration consists of a sequence of steps that you must complete, as follows:

For an example of how a report can be configured, which explains the concepts involved in deciding how to configure a report, although not the detailed clicking and settings necessary, see Section 5.28, “Report Configuration Example”.

The configuration steps will appear as agenda items in the Agenda on the left-hand side on the page that you are viewing. As you go through these items, some of them may involve sub-steps, which will also appear as (nested) agenda items in the Agenda. All of the steps and sub-steps will need to be completed in order to successfully configure a report.

The agenda item you are currently working on will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Below the contents of the agenda item on the right are buttons that allow you to navigate between agenda items:

Each agenda item has its own instructions and its own help page. Follow the instructions to complete each step. Once you have completed an agenda item, you may press the Next button. Once enough steps have been completed, you will be able to complete the activity you are performing by pressing the Finish button.
