The table lists the current profile properties for users in the domain. You can a new profile property or or an existing profile property (in this case, first select/highlight the profile property in the table you want to edit or remove).
If you are adding a profile property, a window will pop up where you can name the new property and set a default value for it. If you are editing the profile property, the existing information about the property will be shown in a pop-up window where you can edit the property's information, including its default value.
Profile properties are useful for pre-setting input parameters (e.g., for a database query) for user-specific information (e.g., login properties). An example in the retail industry would be regional managers accessing information for their own regions. A "region" property could be established (with no default value) where each individual user has its own "region" property value (as part of their individual profiles, i.e., see Section 2.9, “Edit Profile Properties”). The value for the region can then pre-populate the input parameter.
