The Windows Mobile Managed Client includes all Windows Mobile Smartphones and Pocket PCs.
The Windows Mobile Managed Client requires the .NET Compact Framework:
Windows Mobile devices will have a version of the .NET Compact Framework already loaded (it's included in Windows Mobile). An updated version, compatible with Webalo's Managed Client, is available directly from Webalo and is part of the Managed Client download process.
To download the Windows Mobile Managed Client, follow these steps:
Point your mobile device's browser to http://w4bi.com/ua. (If using the Mobile Dashboard Appliance, include the appliance's host name instead of w4bi.com. The URL would thus be of the form http://your-appliance-host-name/ua.)
Download the most recent .NET Compact Framework (the first link on the web page). This step is unnecessary if your device has Windows Mobile version 6 or later.
Download the Webalo client (the second link).
Exit the browser.
In the Programs area on your device, select the Webalo icon, which will launch the Managed Client. You will likely be asked if you want to connect as a guest user (default). You can say Yes and connect with the guest report. But if you want to view your company's reports, then do NOT connect as a guest user. Instead, follow the next few steps to change your login parameters.
Select and then .
On the Options screen, enter your username and password. Select and then go ahead and connect when asked.
At any future time, you can connect to the Mobile Dashboard and get updates of your reports by selecting and then .
The following functions and features may be useful to you:

The columns of data being displayed may be changed. On a Pocket PC (which uses a stylus), you can tap the stylus on a column header to bring up a menu of available columns to choose from. Simply select a column to view with the stylus. On a Smartphone, scroll to a row within the data table, then select , then , and then . You can then select columns to view.
If data in a row in a table is truncated and there is more text to view, first select the row of interest, then bring up the , select , and then . You will now see the full contents of the items in that row. (On a Pocket PC you can use the stylus to tap on the row you'd like expanded.)
On a Pocket PC with a stylus, you may resize the column widths. Go to a column header and point to a side boundary and expand or contract it.
You may bookmark any screen for easy and direct access. It's similar to storing favorites in your browser. Bring up the , select , select , enter a name for the screen bookmark, and then select .
To then retrieve a bookmarked screen, select , then , then , the select the bookmarked screen you want displayed, and then select .
There may be multiple screens (each showing different data) for a report. If so, you'll find the other screens by bringing up the , selecting , and then selecting form among the screens (if any) specified.
also allows you to transpose the rows and columns (rows become columns and columns become rows) to provide an alternative view where you would, for example, see all the column values for a particular row (but shown vertically in a column). Look for a "Details" item in the Choose Data menu and select it.
If you receive multiple reports, you can select from among them by selecting and then which lists the reports you've received. Select the report you want to view and hit .
If your device allows both Portrait and Landscape mode, use Portrait mode. The Managed Client is not yet optimized for Landscape mode.
If you want to view reports offline on your device, select , then , select , check the box next to , and then . (Note that this is the default setting.)
Most errors are due to intermittent network issues or incorrect device settings. A quick list of things to check for:
Coverage: Check that you have good coverage.
Coverage Mode: Check that you have full data access and not just phone coverage.
Internet Access: Check that you can access public Internet sites.
Battery: If the battery is low the device may not be able to connect.
Data Plan: Make sure that you have a data plan that allows you TCP and SSL access.
