8.1. Introduction to Web Site Configuration

This page is part of the Mobile Dashboard online help. For an introduction to the online help manual, see Section 1.1, “Mobile Dashboard Online Help Manual Overview”.

Web site configuration is a guided step-by-step process for setting up web sites for access by mobile end users. A corporate administrator uses the Mobile Dashboard's Agenda Environment (Section 1.3, “The Agenda Environment”) to answer a series of questions identifying the web site to be accessed, and the content to be retrieved and displayed.

Web site configuration consists of a sequence of steps that you must complete, as follows:

The configuration steps will appear as agenda items in the Agenda on the left-hand side on the page that you are viewing. As you go through these items, some of them may involve sub-steps, which will also appear as (nested) agenda items in the Agenda. All of the steps and sub-steps will need to be completed in order to successfully configure a web site.

The agenda item you are currently working on will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Below the contents of the agenda item on the right are buttons that allow you to navigate between agenda items:

Each agenda item has its own instructions and its own help page. Follow the instructions to complete each step. Once you have completed an agenda item, you may press the Next button. Once enough steps have been completed, you will be able to complete the activity you are performing by pressing the Finish button.
