This page is part of the Mobile Dashboard online help. For an introduction to the online help manual, see Section 1.1, “Mobile Dashboard Online Help Manual Overview”.
Web site configuration is a guided step-by-step process for setting up web sites for access by mobile end users. A corporate administrator uses the Mobile Dashboard's Agenda Environment (Section 1.3, “The Agenda Environment”) to answer a series of questions identifying the web site to be accessed, and the content to be retrieved and displayed.
Web site configuration consists of a sequence of steps that you must complete, as follows:
Name the web site configuration (Section 8.2, “Name Web Site Configuration”).
Create a starting point for the web site configuration (Section 8.4, “Create Starting Point”). This will include creating a page format (Section 8.6, “Name Page Format”), including the extraction of content from the page (Section 8.7, “Configure Content For Page Format”) and the creation of macros to run for that page (Section 8.12, “Review Macros for Page Format”).
During these steps of the configuration, the left-hand Agenda will be hidden, and you will navigate using step-specific buttons at the bottom of the page.
Create links for the web site task so mobile users can select the task on the main menu on the mobile device and/or as related tasks (on the context menus) of other tasks (Section 9.1, “Create Links to Task”).
Select end users and user groups who will have the task available to them on their mobile devices (Section 9.17, “Permit Users to Run Task”).
The configuration steps will appear as agenda items in the Agenda on the left-hand side on the page that you are viewing. As you go through these items, some of them may involve sub-steps, which will also appear as (nested) agenda items in the Agenda. All of the steps and sub-steps will need to be completed in order to successfully configure a web site.
The agenda item you are currently working on will appear on the right-hand side of the page.
Below the contents of the agenda item on the right are buttons that allow you to navigate between agenda items:
takes you to the previous agenda item.
takes you to the next agenda item.
completes the activity you are currently performing.
cancels the activity you are currently performing.
Each agenda item has its own instructions and its own help page. Follow the instructions to complete each step. Once you have completed an agenda item, you may press the button. Once enough steps have been completed, you will be able to complete the activity you are performing by pressing the button.
